Editing an existing clip
Video editing starts from a clip whose motion and setting already exist. State a specific change and define what must remain. Asking for a completely new scene can defeat the purpose of the edit. Russian terms: правка видео.
Studio example
Section titled “Studio example”Replace the empty vase on the table with a small fern. Preserve the person, room, camera path and timing of the source clip.
Choose a connected edit mode and supply the source clip. Add character references only if that mode accepts them. Ask Prompt for the model to distinguish changed and preserved parts, then inspect the prepared request before generating.
Verify the result
Section titled “Verify the result”Compare original and output side by side. Check the intended object and every preserved property. Gemini Omni’s 5 October weather edit kept the character and camera but rendered evening as a cloudy day. Older H3 and Kling replacement exams used clean character frames; they do not automatically validate a later sheet arrangement.
Availability and evidence
Section titled “Availability and evidence”This technique is documented as an authoring or workflow practice. It is available only through the stated inputs and operations; it is not a new model parameter. An unrendered example is untested. A dated successful case is an observation for its exact model, version, quality and mode, not a guarantee for another scene. Choose a model by the required operation first.

See the model–technique applicability matrix for connected operations, dated outcomes and configurations that remain untested.
Reviewed 14 October 2026 against the current Studio authoring contract and the evidence described above. No new paid render was made for this example.
