Reference roles
A reference can define identity, a place, visual appearance, movement or sound. A source clip for editing is the object being changed. These roles are not interchangeable. Russian terms: референсы, образцы.
Studio example
Section titled “Studio example”Use one Element for the courier’s appearance, one image for the station location, and a separately approved first frame for the exact opening composition.
Choose the operation before connecting media. First-frame mode starts from a scene image; reference mode uses media as guidance; edit mode changes the supplied clip; motion transfer (Avatar by clip) borrows a performance; Avatar by voice animates a hero picture to a sound. Inspect the current model table for allowed media and combined limits. Do not count only each individual input limit.
Verify the result
Section titled “Verify the result”Check both acceptance and meaning. A request can be accepted while the reference is ignored or copied into the wrong role. Missing a supported media input is a contract problem; failure to preserve a face is an observed result. Keep those diagnoses separate.
Availability and evidence
Section titled “Availability and evidence”This technique is documented as an authoring or workflow practice. It is available only through the stated inputs and operations; it is not a new model parameter. An unrendered example is untested. A dated successful case is an observation for its exact model, version, quality and mode, not a guarantee for another scene. Choose a model by the required operation first.

See the model–technique applicability matrix for connected operations, dated outcomes and configurations that remain untested.
Reviewed 14 October 2026 against the current Studio authoring contract and the evidence described above. No new paid render was made for this example.
